3-Ingredient Caramel Milk Dessert
Ingredients
- 2 cups milk (500 ml)
- 1/3 cup sugar (70 g)
- 2 eggs
- 1 tsp vanilla extract
Instructions
- Boil the Milk: Start by bringing 2 cups of milk to a boil. Set it aside while we prepare the caramel.
- Caramelize the Sugar: In a pan, cook 1/3 cup of sugar over medium heat without stirring until it caramelizes. Once it turns a beautiful amber color, reduce the heat to low.
- Combine Caramel and Milk: Gradually add the boiled milk to the caramel, stirring continuously until the caramel dissolves into the milk. Set this mixture aside to cool slightly.
- Prepare the Egg Mixture: In a bowl, whisk 2 eggs with 1 teaspoon of vanilla extract. Slowly add the caramel milk mixture to the eggs while stirring quickly. This prevents the eggs from cooking.
- Strain the Mixture: To ensure a smooth texture, strain the mixture into a bowl. Cover the bowl with cling film.
- Cook in a Water Bath: Place the bowl in a pot of hot water, cover, and cook over medium heat for 15 minutes. The dessert will gently set while it cooks.
- Refrigerate: After cooking, refrigerate the dessert for at least 3 hours to let it firm up.
- Serve: Once chilled, you can decorate the dessert with caramel sauce or your favorite nuts, but this is totally optional. Now, your dessert is ready to enjoy!
